We had a great visit to Jenny and her new home in Connecticut! We were able to see some of the New England country side and have a fun time in NY city all in one week!
From my previous list of things we did go to Harry Potter the Exhibit and The Pompeii: Life and Death in the Shadow of Vesuvius exhibit at Discovery Place Times Square. Both of the exhibits were small but excellent.
We opted to see “Chicago” as our Broadway selection. It was great!! The music and dance was amazing … and we had front row seats! Before the show we had an amazing dinner at Jenny’s restaurant … The Red Rooster in Harlem. The food was delicious and we had to push ourselves away from the table in enough time to make the show.
We also took a day trip driving through the Connecticut country side checking out the wonderful towns with their town squares, one of the few historic covered bridges left in the US located in West Cornwall, and Kent Falls State Park with a great waterfall. Hopefully this will just be the beginning of our New England safaris.
The things we did not have time to work into our schedule were the Norwalk Aquarium (on the list now for our next visit) and the ‘Destroyed’ photographic exhibit by Moby at the Click Gallery in NYC. You just can’t do everything!
As expected the final chapter of Harry Potter was amazing! I am sorry to see this end, but hope to enjoy again and again as I reread the books when I need to visit Hogwarts.
Keith Urban Concert – Get Closer Tour 2011, July 28th, Verizon Center, Washington, DC – This concert was incredible. So full of energy! My only hope now is to see Urban and Mayer live–together.
As you know this concert was a graduation gift from my friends Dyanne and Matt who attended with me. We started the evening with a lovely dinner with Merle at the National Press Club. My how they have refurbished that place!! We will definitely have to dine there again.
This is the end of my Summer Adventures — but I have Winter plans! Teresa and Lauren are coming for a ‘Twilight’ weekend in November, then we are off to Connecticut again to see Jenny and Greg for Thanksgiving and Christmas. More adventures are on the agenda.
